An author of a book now in its second printing, and a long-time well-respected journalist, Karen has experienced communications on all sides of the professional table – as a television news producer; a newspaper reporter, editor and publisher; a farmer-led association editor; 10 years as an agency director of public relations; corporate speech writer; and later, as director of marketing and communications for Dublin National Bank.

Karen began her career after receiving a B.A. in Journalism from Texas Tech University. She has received numerous writing awards for news, features, editorials and columns. The newspaper she founded and on which she served as publisher/editor, was awarded the “Sweepstakes” award (best in state by size) from the Texas Press Association and the West Texas Press Association. Karen has contributed her innumerable talents to MMC since 2006. She serves as a writer and copy editor for the MMC team.
